Lesson Information

Welcome! Come and learn the Spiritual Seed from Lindsay Lewchuk in the serene mountains of North Carolina, located just outside Boone.

About Lindsay:

I received my accreditation to teach QiGong from Master Tom Fung Dip.Ac., Dip.TCM. I studied privately under Master Tom Fung in Toronto, Ontario for one and a half years. Dr. Fung has maintained his Calfironia Accupuncture Licence since 1984. He has been a NCCON Dimplomate since 1994, and a Doctor of TCM in Mainland China. Disciplines studied include the Spiritual Seed, Standing Brocade, and Sitting Brocade along with the associated breathing techniques. I took up the study of QiGong as a means of treatment in order to manage Environmental Illness and, in conjunction with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), heal organ damage.

About QiGong: *the following information is from Dr. Fung's book "Meditation (Qigong): Healing of Body, Mind & Spirit"

"Qigong is the knowledge, technique and art to cultivate qi. A method used by the practitioner combined with physical as well as mental execution to cultivate energy. The practitioner must associate the physical posture, mind and breathing and act on the whole organism. These three aspects must be combined into one and maintain a dynamic equilibrium. It enables human body to produce an "energy-storing" reaction, release energy stagnation, reduce energy consumption. The outcome of qigong practice can promote health, self healing and longevity. Since qigong emphasizes mind training, it will enhance the ability to handle stress, improve the relationship with people."

About the Spiritual Seed:

The Spiritual Seed is a complete set of movements. The purpose of the Spiritual Seed, which is universal to all types of QiGong practice, is to nourish and train the Jing, Qi, and Shen (a person's essence, energy, and spirit). The Spiritual Seed has 5 movements. Local land take treasure is the first movement, which is performed 4 times. Sun, moon in the chest, the second movement, is also performed 4 times. The third movement, Universe inside the sleeve, is performed 4 times. Original qi mixes together, the fourth movement, is performed 6 times. The final movement in the set, Spiritual seed returns to origin, is performed 4 times.

Lesson Information:

Call (828-406-6101) or e-mail (rootedqigong@live.com) Lindsay to set up a lesson. Learning the basics typically takes 10 lessons, but is dependent upon student's commitment and independent practice.

As practicing in nature is an integral part of QiGong, please dress appropriately for the outdoor weather conditions. Loose clothing is also necessary for the free flow of qi through the body. Also note: this is a scent free activity so please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or other scented products.
